About Shoqata “Sfinksi”
Shoqata “Sfinksi” e Minoritetit të Egjiptianëve të Shqipërisë për Zhvillim dhe Integrim is an association whose name reflects its commitment to the development and integration of the Egyptian minority community in Albania.
Its institutional identity is rooted in community representation, equal participation, social cooperation, cultural recognition, and sustainable development.
Social integration should not require individuals to abandon their identity. An inclusive society recognises cultural heritage while ensuring equal rights, responsibilities, opportunities and participation for everyone.
Our Organizational Identity
The association is registered in Albania as a nonprofit civil society organisation (TIN J22417456O), based at Rruga E Bogdanëve 52, Tiranë, Albania. It is known in English as the “Sfinksi” Association of the Egyptian Minority of Albania for Development and Integration.
Our Background and Purpose
Inclusive communities are built through access to opportunities, respect for individual dignity, meaningful participation, and cooperation between citizens and institutions. The association exists to help create an environment in which individuals and families can participate in community life, access relevant information, develop their abilities, and contribute positively to society.
Our Community Focus
Our work centres on the Egyptian minority community in Albania — its families, young people, women and elders — while remaining open to dialogue with every community that shares our values.
Our Development Philosophy
We favour long-term progress over temporary fixes, and initiatives the community itself has helped shape. Development begins with people, and with listening.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
We seek to support constructive dialogue, strengthen community connections, encourage participation in civic and social initiatives, and promote awareness of the value of cultural diversity.
Our Approach to Partnerships
We welcome cooperation with nonprofit organisations, educational and cultural institutions, and public bodies whose aims are consistent with our legal purpose.
Our Long-Term Objectives
Through its mission and proposed community-oriented activities, the association aims to contribute to a society in which inclusion, mutual respect and human development are shared priorities.
